Oh not at all when fully dissolved and used in moderation. This ingredient is included in many skincare products, and in particular you can check out toners with an astringent effect. But if it exists in a crystallized form, it may. So go easy on salt— as in don’t over-use salt, which I am sure you will not.

Doesn’t the sodium chloride in salt clog pores?

I am sorry to hear that. But it’s not the end of the world. You can always switch the sugar to honey. And your dryness should be solved.

No, it should not feel sticky. If you did feel so, you might need to cut down on the amount of sugar you put into the toner, which then can help reduce the stickiness feel, if any!

is the toner supposed to be sticky feeling on your skin?
May 17th, 2010 at 10:28 pm
@Jazzyjean713
As a matter of fact, apart from the natural coloring of brown sugar, you do not need extra coloring. It is the essential ingredients in the sugar and salt that matter to your skin. So now you are all set to use your toner. Again, do not worry about the color of the toner, but do stir until everything is fully dissolved!

Stir until everything is 100% dissolved. Do not worry about the color. Brown is the natural color of brown sugar. I assume you use regular salt, and hence the brown color. But then, the toner you made, regardless of the color, is just as effective.

i made one right now and i don’t have sea salt so it wouldn’t turn blue like yours but my toner turned dark brown because of the brown sugar. but yours has brown sugar in it and your toner didn’t turn brown at all, it looks somewhat transparent. Mine isn’t transparent at all, it’s just dark brown. Did I do something wrong?
I’m thinking I didn’t stir long enough, how long are supposed to stir it for?

Always recycle and resue bottles for, say, coca cola (you get the general idea). Clean the bottle well, and it can be used as a container. You may not be able to feel the spraying sensation. But you can carefully pour the toner into you palm and pat it onto your face until it is fully absorbed.

No, the natural ingredient within salt (no matter if it’s sea salt or just regular salt), that is sodium chloride, has been shown by research to be a potent disinfectant.
So, you are all set.

if i use regular salt instead of sea salt would that have a significant affect on the amount of time to heal my acne?
May 18th, 2010 at 2:01 am
@Jazzyjean713
I would not say bad, but her skin condition has improved a lot. Any mineral water will do actually. Go for the cheap ones. They are just as full of minerals as any others.
