expertvillage, I followed the proceedure you demonstrated and my hp part 78 cartridge still doesn’t work. Some majenta ink seep out on the paper towel when blotted but the colors did not print. Any other idea you can impart? The cartridge I have was never used but I didn’t had it stored in an upright position & I’m thinking that was the problem. The expiration date has expired also.

for a regular one like 22 27 or 28 i think it’s 5 ml

How much ink do you inject????? It never works for me – wasted a whole refill pack. Ink everywhere else but on the paper!!!!

take the printer apart.. usualy the side wiht the sd cards.. on the mobo there will be a battery.. takes it out for a couple minutes.. then put it back in.. it will erase the printers memory of the cartridge.. then will work.. even expired cartridges

The trick is to “top off” the cartridges each week rather than refilling them when they become empty. Otherwise, fill them as soon as you get a message that the ink is running low. Topping-off avoids the problems of refilling and extends the life of the cartridge.
